TRANSFORMING THE GRID TO 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY

BUILDING EDUCATION SERIES

TRANSFORMING THE GRID TO 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY

This will be an informative session discussing how and why renewable energy must be our path forward. Transforming the grid to renewable energy sounds like a daunting task but can - and has been done. The City of Burlington, Vermont is a perfect example.  They have sourced 100% of their resources from renewable generators since 2014.  We will learn not only why but how they created and implemented their plan to convert the electric utility to renewable resources. The implications of the City’s more recent Net Zero Roadmap will be discussed as well. We will also review trends across the U.S., the federal plans for deep decarbonization and the investment needed. What are the country's goals for 2030 or 2050? How can we facilitate best practices to create a more resilient grid? Our speakers will address these issues and discuss the various facets of energy generation, storage, microgrid technology and behind the meter solutions.  There will be ample time for Q&A and open discussion.
