Incorporating Critical Thinking & Information Literacy in the Classroom

PresenterMandi Goodsett, Performing Arts & Humanities Librarian

Description: Do your students struggle to evaluate arguments? Do they fail to approach claims with reasoned skepticism? Do they have difficulty using evidence to make well-supported decisions or solve problems? Regardless of whether you teach in STEM, the humanities or the social sciences, your students will be expected to have critical thinking skills when they graduate and enter the job market. This workshop will explore some of the basic best practices of employing critical thinking in the classroom, especially as it relates to finding, assessing and using information.
