Darwin Day 2018

Please join the Department of Criminology, Anthropology, and Sociology on Friday, February 16th for our annual Darwin Day celebration with special guest speaker Dr. Linda Spurlock. Dr. Spurlock will give a talk on “Recreating the Past: Fossil Reconstruction and Facial Approximation Art”.

Dr. Linda Spurlock is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Kent State University. Spurlock is a forensic facial reconstruction artist and provides sketches and sculptures of unidentified persons for law enforcement offices throughout the region. At the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, she works as a forensic anthropology consultant. She also specializes in primate fossil reconstruction, particularly of the pelvis.
