Criminal Justice Forum I: Yale Law School Professor James Forman Jr.

Cleveland-Marshall College of Law welcomes Yale Law School Professor James Forman Jr. to speak at a free Criminal Justice Forum CLE event Thursday, September 20, at 5:00 p.m.   Forman is a leading critic of mass incarceration and its disproportionate impact on people of color.

Forman is the author of a 2017 book, Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America.  The book made the New York Times’ list of the 10 Best Books of 2017, and was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction.  Locking Up Our Own traces the growth of tough-on-crime and mass incarceration policies and their impact on people of color.
