Copyright Basics

Description: Participants will learn what copyright is, its purpose, the exclusive rights of the copyright holder and the limitations on those rights that allow use of protected materials. Participants will learn about the Fair Use Doctrine, how to determine if a use is a fair use, and will be updated on recent legal cases involving use of copyrighted materials. Faculty will learn about their choices in managing their own copyrights.
